Tomtit (miromiro or ngirungiru)

The tomtit, miromiro or ngirungiru in Maori, is New Zealand's most ubiquituous bird with the robin. It's not just that they are a common bird: it's all about their attitude. While most birds are wary of human beings, tomtits are curious instead and will never miss an opportunity to come check you out while you are tramping.
