Bellbird on flax bush

The bellbird (korimako in Maori) is one of my favorite New Zealand birds. Like so many of them, it's small, discreet and can look dull at first but sunlight soon reveals the beautiful shades of yellow and olive of its plumage, and the red glint of its eyes. It's also worthy of its name, and its song is music to a tramper's ears. This one was photographed on a flax bush, no further than my backyard.
