Rainbow Lorikeet

by Toothbrush published on 01/02/2012 category Australian Wildlife

The rainbow lorikeet was one of the first birds I ever learned to name and recognize, and it's no surprise: it's extremely colorful, common and boisterous! I always enjoyed watching them flock to flowering garden trees during the summer. This photo was taken in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, QLD, where wild lorikeets get fed every morning by eager visitors.
